Built to last, worn again and again
The single biggest thing we can do is make protection you keep wearing. Each pair is designed for around six months of regular wear rather than a single use, so one Carry On brief does the work of many throwaway products. We send a friendly reminder when a pair is due to be replaced, so you are never left guessing.
Our founder Ed built Carry On after his own prostate surgery and wore every prototype for more than 400 hours before release. That testing was about dignity and comfort first, but it has a quieter benefit too: a product that holds its shape and does its job is a product that does not get binned early.
Materials chosen with care
We build closer to performance kit than to chemist-aisle disposables. The pieces are chosen to be kind to skin and to wear well over time.
- Four-way stretch shell: a nylon-elastane blend designed to keep its shape through repeated wear and washing.
- Bamboo viscose inner lining: soft against skin, breathable and hypoallergenic.
- Engineered absorbent core: a three-layer wicking system that neutralises odour for the full wear.
- Dermatologist-reviewed and free from chlorine, latex, fragrance and the parabens common in chemist products.
Testing to reduce waste
A lot of waste in this category comes from products that simply do not work, bought, tried, and abandoned in a drawer or a bin. That is why we offer a free three-pair trial pack: try it properly before you commit, with shipping paid at checkout. Getting the size and capacity right the first time means fewer pairs bought that never get worn.
We would rather you trial a pair and decide it is not for you than end up with packs you never use. Honest fit guidance and a real trial are part of how we try to keep waste down.
Plain, recyclable packaging
Your order arrives in a plain, unmarked box with no branding on the outside. That protects your privacy, and it also means simple cardboard that is easy to recycle through normal kerbside recycling, rather than glossy printed packaging. We keep what goes inside the box minimal: the briefs, a fit guide, a feedback card and a welcome note from Ed. Orders are posted within five business days.
Made thoughtfully, close to home
Carry On is made by GardeWear Pty Ltd, a small team based on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland. Being small keeps us close to how the product is made and how it performs, and it lets us improve a pair before we make more of it. We are launching in Australia first, with the United States and United Kingdom to follow.
Giving back as we grow
For every ten packs sold, we donate one to people who need it. Our goal is to donate 50,000 packs by 2026. We see this as part of the same idea: making sure good protection reaches the people who need it, rather than going to waste.
Where we are still learning
We are early, and we would rather tell you that plainly than overclaim. We do not hold certifications we have not earned, and we will not pretend our footprint is zero. What we can promise is intent: to keep choosing durable materials, to keep packaging simple and recyclable, and to be straight with you as we improve. If you have a question about materials, end-of-life or anything else on this page, we genuinely want to hear it. Email hello@carryonwear.com and a real person will answer.
